Platelet-rich plasma is a product derived from the patient's own blood (autologous), with a concentration of platelets and other bioactive plasma elements above normal levels. Its purpose is to attract progenitor cells and stimulate the natural healing response. It is performed in our clinic, obtaining a blood sample from the patient, which is processed under controlled conditions using a closed, sterile system. We separate the blood components and select the fraction containing the most appropriate concentration of platelets. It is then administered to the area to be treated via injection. After the injection, patients must remain in relative rest for 48 hours. Paracetamol and metamizole are recommended as analgesia if necessary. This regenerative medicine treatment poses no risks to the patient; it is performed with certified, specialized, and quality-assured medical devices (CE marking). Furthermore, in many cases, platelet-rich plasma injections are an alternative to knee or hip replacements, either temporarily or even indefinitely. The blood will be free of contact with air or contaminated components at all times, preventing the transmission of infectious diseases and meeting safety requirements.
